Attic insulation removal may be necessary because of rodent damage, the presence of old insulation, or water and mold damage. Rodent infestation is a common precursor to insulation removal because rodents find an ideal habitat in an attic. Insulation can be used as nesting material, and attics themselves are sheltered from the elements and potential predators.
Attic insulation can keep you warm in winter, cool in summer, and save you money all year round. But when attic insulation is not properly monitored and maintained, things can, and do, go wrong.
Insulation materials can break down over time, reducing efficiency and raising costs. When roofing is repaired or replaced, the insulation underneath it is often ignored.
Removing old attic insulation requires special equipment and supplies to do the job safely and correctly.
Areas leading to the attic are isolated with plastic curtains to prevent the spread of particles.
Protective clothing is worn to guard against exposure to fibers, dust and debris.
Batt insulation is removed via Closed contractors bags. We bag up the old insulation inside the attic not allowing fibers and dust to come into the living space. The bags are then placed outside until the end of the work. At the end of the work all the bags and debris are removed from the property and are disposed by us.
Blow-in insulation is removed by using a 20hp commercial-grade power vacuum that is carrying all the insulation, dust, and debris through a long hose leading to special filter bags.
Removing insulation may seem like an easy job, but in fact, it is not; a lot of tactics, equipment, and safety measures are required to do a thorough job. Hiring the right insulation removal company is the only way to ensure your attic walls and floors are once again in good condition.
